Here we are in July! Currently I have a barn full of bunnies and chickens and I couldn't be happier. We have started offering Harvesting classes at our farm for anyone who wants to learn. Last month we held a class, and two families came down to the farm and it was a really great time! If you are localish to us and are interested in taking one of our classes, we would love to have you! Here is a quick run-down of how the event goes. You will be shown our setup and discuss other types of setups and why we chose the one we did. Then we will talk about different dispatch methods, and processing. You will be given the choice to continue with the class or decide if this isn't for you. Next, I will go through the process of dispatching and harvesting and quartering the rabbit. Showing you step by step and talking about how we do things here at the farm. After I get done processing and answering any questions you may have then it's your turn! We will talk you through every step and guide you through the processes of harvesting. Materials needed, Cooler, Ice, Container to put your meat in. We will send you home with the rabbit that you processed, meat, liver, heart, bones and fur. I will also be working on a few pages of recipes to try with your rabbit meat, and instructions on how to make bone broth as well as how to tan to dehydrate the fur!
The time that this class runs will depend on how many participants there are, but you are welcome to leave after you've processed your rabbit. I will be adding a price page to the main website soon so stay tuned for that. As always Thanks for visiting our page and we hope you have an amazing day!
